Our Present openings: Data Centre Shift Supervisor Job Location: Abu Dhabi Job Duration: Contract / Fulltime Job Description: JOB Scope: This role is responsible for ensuring day-to-day Data Centre computer operations are conducted efficiently and on time. This involves ensuring End-of-Day (EoD), End-of-Month (EoM) and End-of-Year (EoY) processing finishes on time, thus enabling the Bank to open for business every day. Key Accountabilities: 1.Performance Management: Tasks involve ensuring the systems are able to deliver a service at the desired level, requiring the role incumbent to report and diagnose any problems that arise, in addition, they are responsible for automating as many processes as possible in order to reduce human interactions/errors and thereby increase efficiency, e.g. a batch job should run automatically without the need for an Operator to physically initiate it. (20%) 2.People Management: The incumbent is solely responsible for all activities performed by the shift workers in their particular shift; this involves guiding and mentoring junior staff (Shift Operators) as well as applying past experience to provide a supportive working environment. (20%) 3.Availability Management: The role is responsible for physically monitoring ATMs, systems and networks for availability; any issues that the incumbent cannot either resolve themselves or require additional guidance should be escalated to the IT support staff and management via the problem management system (Remedy). (30%) 4.Change Management: The incumbent is responsible for making authorized and emergency changes to systems and databases as per approved schedule, e.g. database patches, bug fixes, etc. (20%) 5.Backups: Tasks involve making sure that system and database backups are taken regularly as per the schedule to ensure continuity and restoration in case of system failures; the incumbent is also responsible for restoring backups in the Disaster Recovery (DR) site as planned or when required, e.g. restoring ATM Switch Base 24 three times a day in the DR site. (10%) 6.Decision making: While daily decisions made by the incumbent are unlikely to have a direct impact on external customers, they may affect internal clients or processes. 7.Problem Solving: Possess good diagnostic skills, which will be necessary to identify the root cause 8.Leadership: 9.Interactions: 10.Education: Qualification: Bachelors degree in IT or equivalent, e.g. diploma (mandatory).
