Essential Job Functions 1.Responsible to the Senior Controls Engineer (Cost) for ensuring that EPC Contractor project costs are controlled and accurately reported in line with the Project Control Central Office Procedures. 2.Responsible for promotion of sound cost engineering practice at all times. 3.Shall prepare, implement and administer all aspects of cost control, change and trend control, estimating, and finance control in accordance with the requirements of the El Merk Project Controls Procedures and as directed by the Senior Cost Control Engineer at the Project Controls Central Office. 4.Shall monitor/forecast Project Management/Project Support costs for staffing and expenses. 5.Shall monitor as required the EPC contractor’s performance from a cost perspective (VOWD, accruals, actual and cash control, trends, forecasts etc). Review and analyse contractors cost reports to ensure accuracy and completeness and detect and manage trends/deviations to the current forecast. 6.Shall keep an invoice register; carry out contract compliance for the invoices received from the Contractor(s) or other vendors. 7.Shall create monthly, annual and ad-hoc cost reports and forecasts as required and produce cost presentation materials as requested by the EPC Contract Resident Engineer and Project Controls Central Office

Profile

At least 5 years cost engineering experience in the oil and gas industry, preferably with Operating Companies. Good team player with sound knowledge of modern project control techniques Ability to work as part of an Operator team within an EPC contractor environment including interface with the EPC contractor on project control issues. Proficient in use of Microsoft Office with emphasis on Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access.
