Job Description
Provides the first point of contact and response providing primary medical care under the supervision of the Medical Director and assists in the implementation of the Company's Occupational Health and Employee Wellness programs on the assigned production/platform to employees, contractors, Dugas personnel and visiting tankers Coordinates the application of the catering contacts on the Platform ensuring highest quality and hygiene standards. • Provides medical services to employees offshore, on the assigned platform (Fateh/SWF). Diagnoses complaints and provides advice in response to both critical and non-critical medical conditions. • Assists in the implementation and administration of the Company's Occupational Health Program in Fateh/SW Fateh. Counsels employees on the correct response to results and physical conditioning which do not meet normal standards. Completes medical records for all such examinations and counsels employees on appropriate dietary/lifestyle changes. Assists with a comprehensive vaccinations' program according to a prescribed schedule for a variety of major issues. This includes new employees also. • Provides emergency response medical care for employees on the Platform, Dugas personnel, contractors on the drilling rig, tanker and boat personnel. Leads the work of the Emergency Medical Response Team, receiving/visiting emergency cases and providing immediate first response care on ICS. When appropriate, provides immediate stabilizing treatment and coordinates emergency evacuations to Dubai for further treatment at the Clinic or for hospitalization. Accompanies patients on CASEVACS, providing medical write up notes to Doctors at the Clinic/Hospital. • Assists in administering Company's Employee Wellness Programs on the platform, which are aimed at assisting employees with a range of both medical and non-medical problems on a confidential basis. Includes counselling employees on a range of personal issues including physical, psychological, relationship and marital issues; providing support and advice on the use of external support agencies locally and overseas. Provides post trauma counselling and support, and assistance in managing and dealing with grief and as the first point of contact for field based employees. • Provides on site supervision of the field catering contract on the assigned platform. Includes liaising with the Catering Contractor's Supervisor on meal and services planning, handling complaints and ensuring that the quality of services are maintained at Company expected levels. Ensures that stringent hygiene standards are maintained in all food handling, storage and servicing areas, that contractors' observe strict personal hygiene behaviors and that toilets, rooms and recreation areas are kept at the cleanest possible levels. Checks incoming food supplies for quality, use - by dates and expected standards and where necessary will reject supplies if not satisfied. Receives and checks daily/weekly accounts from the contractor on services provided and endorses for the Production Superintendent's approval. Supervises the administration of a full pest control service on 'Board'. • Coordinates physical exercise. activities on the Platform including ensuring the 'useability' of the Fitness Center. Includes carrying out a full 'physical' of employees wishing to undertake physical exercise, suggesting appropriate physical health programs, including dietary advice, monitoring activities providing ongoing advice to employees/contractors. Ensures sanitation and hygiene standards are well maintained at the fitness center. • Carries out a range of other similar and/or related duties including: carrying out and despatching samples taken as part of the Company's Substance Abuse Testing programs; Provides medical orientation to new employees. Providing a range of training to personnel on the platform including EMRT, BBP & NPR; Conducts food safety and hygiene educational awareness training for catering staff; Attends various safety meetings providing inputs from on occupational health and general physical issues. Acts as the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) on all issues related to the company's 'Valuing People' programs, developing and implementing programs, receiving and answering queries of employees (providing a listening and counselling service); Submits weekly report of patent attendances to Medical Director; Maintains medical stock inventory and ensures compliance with medical stock audits; Coordinates all response on the platform to Bio hazardous waste clean up and disposal, ensuring that appropriate treatment is provided and packaging and despatching waste for disposal in Dubai; Maintains a well equipped Health Center, all emergency response and first aid kits on the Platform, refilling and arranging replacement as necessary (Includes Blood Pathogen Clean up kits, First Aid Boxes, Burn Kits and Resuscitators). Provides pre-hospital emergency medical services.

• M.B.B.S. Bachelor's degree in Medicine. • 3 years' experience general practice medicine. • Very good written and spoken English.
