Review the Designs from Consultants and ensure constructability and operability as well as economy of the Rig. Interact with Designer, Client, Class, Vendors and subcontractors. Involve in the development of design, detailed design and construction engineering of New Build Drilling Rigs. Providing technical guidance to Engineers and Draftsmen and generally monitoring the quality and schedule of drawings and calculations produced. Work with other disciplines to ensure interfaces are addressed. Provide Engineering Deliverables to facilitate Client / Class Approvals, Procurement, fabrication and erection and final documentation Responsible for developing and updating company standards and Specifications for New Build Rigs Provide solutions to Design /Engineering / Construction problems arising in the course of Project Execution Review of Enquiry documents, offering guidance and scrutinizing estimation works related to company Bids for Drilling Rigs.
Profile Bachelor’s Degree in Naval Architecture or Civil Engineering. 15 to 20 years in the Design / Construction of Jack Up rigs, with at least 10 years in a Rig Builder’s yard design office. Sound Knowledge of Class Rules, IMO / MODU /SOLAS regulations, Design Codes Excellent awareness of design conditions of Marine / outfitting components of Jack Up rigs Sound knowledge of Rig functions and construction techniques Experience in conducting Inclining experiment, Cantilever load test, Jacking trials etc.
